Chester’s Hotel
26 Chester Street Fortitude valley, Brisbane 4006, Australia
Pros
Peaceful neighborhood
Free Internet
Homey atmosphere
Cons
Not within Brisbane Central
I have never found a hotel in Brisbane as lovely as the Chester Hotel. I decided to stay here because of the superb reviews that I have read about it online where not one review mentioned anything about poor facilities and service lapses. I thought that was really amazing. True enough, I was not a bit disappointed. Although it is not located within Brisbane Central, it was very accessible to public transportation so traveling back and forth to the CBD was not much of a problem.
Because it is not located within the busy streets of Brisbane, the area was quiet and very conducive for a good night’s sleep. Apart from that, the hotel only has ten rooms which was good because it was not crowded with people. It adds to the hotel’s intimate appeal. The hotel area was serene, safe and secure.
Inside the hotel, the common lounge area had comfy sofas as well as a computer with printer for those who are on business like me. For those on vacation, the hotel had a wonderful collection of DVDs for one’s viewing pleasure which you can bring to your room if you prefer to watch alone. It also has a roof top bar where you can spend your evenings drinking with friends or unwind with other guests of the hotel.
When it comes to the basics, the room was very comfortable and well-appointed. It had a spacious bathroom that had complimentary robes, gowns and slippers. The bed was divine. The on the house tea and coffee were specially made and definitely not your ordinary products. Luxurious, I may say. It even offers free wireless Internet service!
Everything that you would look for in a famous 4 or 5-star hotel is already here. I could not find any reason to regret choosing Chesters over Sofitel or Hilton or Marriott at that!
