The city of Brisbane on Queensland's east coast of Australia is a fantastic place to visit. The weather is consistantly beautiful, the river provides energy to an economically strong and growing population and the city has everything in it that residents or visitors could possibly want.

Having travelled the world i believe Brisbane offers the vibrancy to rival Seattle, the climate better than LA, the visual beauty of San Francisco, a culinary range that aspires to Paris and a positive economic future that is not far behind Silicon Valley.

Brisbane is an alfresco city, where every opportunity is taken to spend time outdoors. Walking,biking,dining,running,playing sport and barbecuing as close to the river as you can get.

What’s on in Brisbane during August

August is another month that is shaping up to be packed full of different events all around Brisbane. There is definitely going to be something going on for everyone in August, so be sure to get out there and check some of these events out.

Greazefest will be taking place on Sunday, August 1st, at the Rocklea Showground in Brisbane. Greazefest is known as the “Kustom Kulture Festival” and will be home to all kinds of interesting exhibits and entertainment. One of the main highlights of the festival will be the hot rod show, which will exhibit all kinds of classic cars. There will also be a vintage fashion show, different markets, tattooing, and art exhibits. Live bands and DJ’s will provide more entertainment for the crowd. This is guaranteed to be an exciting and unique event.
Fans of the Beatles will not want to miss Let It Be. Let It Be is a celebration of the songs written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. It will be taking place on Monday, August 9th, at the QPAC Concert Hall. John Lennon and Paul McCartney are regarded as one of the most important song writing duos of the 20th century and Let It Be looks to honor the lyrical and musical depth of their songs. Performing at the event will be some of Australia’s most respected singers. These singers include: Jon Stevens, Doug Parkinson, Jack Jones, and John Waters. The singers will be backed up by the Day Tripper Band. This is definitely an event that no Beatles fan should miss!

Lovers of heavier music will not want to miss Slash as he comes to The Tivoli in Brisbane on Thursday, August 12th. Slash rose to fame at the lead guitarist of Guns N’ Roses and he has been one of the most revered and looked up to guitarist since. His lead guitar riff in the song “Sweet Child O’ Mine” is often debated as being the greatest guitar riff of all time. Whether you are a fan of his early work in Guns N’ Roses or of his later material, this is going to be a must see concert event for you.

From August 7th to August 13th, the Brisbane Fashion Show will be held. This event is being hosted by South Band and is sponsored by Mercedes-Benz. It promises to be one of the most exciting fashion shows of the year. Over the years, this event has created a national buzz for being the location of many major spring and summer fashion launches. This is definitely something that all fans of fashion should attend. Many local and national designers will be on hand to show off their latest styles and collections. Fashion fans may also want to check out the Schwarzkopf Professional Hair and Fashion show. This event is taking place Tuesday, August 10th, at the Cultural Forecourt. The Schwarzkopf Professional Hair and Fashion show with feature designer Gail Sorronda, Subfusco, Bettina Liano, and Max & Bruce boutique. This is another great event for fans of the fashion world.

The eclectic mix of events during the month of August touches on just about everything that someone can be into. You are sure to be able to find something you want to go to and something that you cannot miss.
